Cookory Theme Guide

Cookory is an editorial recipe-discovery theme for Ghost. This guide is written for publishers who purchased the marketplace theme and want to install, configure, and use it.

What is included

Cookory includes:

• Editorial homepage with featured and latest recipe sections.
• Dedicated /recipes/ archive with search, tag filters, and grid/list views.
• Recipe post template with cooking mode, print mode, ingredient checking, sharing, and related recipes.
• Custom templates for recipes, members, and the recipe archive.
• Tag and author archives, site search, responsive layouts, dark mode, and accessibility basics.
• Ghost Portal links for signup and account management.
• Automatic Recipe JSON-LD when a recipe contains valid Ingredients and Method sections.
• Theme settings for colors, fonts, layouts, labels, visibility, and utility controls.

Quick setup

1. Download the Cookory zip from your marketplace account.
2. In Ghost Admin, open Settings → Design & branding → Change theme.
3. Upload the zip and activate Cookory.
4. Configure Brand settings, navigation, Members, and Theme settings.
5. Publish a test recipe and check it on desktop and mobile.

Cookory is ready to use after upload. You do not need Git, Node.js, npm, or a local development environment for normal installation and publishing.

Recommended first steps

Set your logo, publication icon, cover image, fonts, accent color, navigation, homepage copy, and footer note. Then create one recipe using the workflow in Publishing content.

Support and updates

For Ghost platform behavior, consult the official Ghost documentation. Keep a backup of your current theme before installing an update. Theme updates may replace custom code changes.
